The Museum

Museum

At Plus X Museum, Brisbane, Queensland, we have 12,000 Plastic figurines on display. 30 years of collecting. All the thrills of treasure hunting.

Works of art are the tangible flowers on the tree of human imagination. We have collected some for your enjoyment. But we invite you to pause, and contemplate the Universe. When undertaking this fantastic adventure, we encourage you to think the best thoughts and stay positive. Mankind is not lost in an immense Universe, but we are among the stars and ride with them. Catch the idea? But find that quiet corner. The individual thought bubbles are formatted to fit one page on a phone.

The Book ("Contemplate The Universe" by Bert Poelstra)

Our book is a collection of our thoughts from the years. (2001 - 2016) We take 400 poems to ask the question, "What's that person in the mirror looking at?" It's our current take on origins, written in rhyming verse. We think the same qualities are on show in the Universe as can be seen in the art collection and the other dust collectors on display in the museum.

The electronic version of our book can be purchased from the Kindle store.

Check out some Extracts from our book.

The Invitation

Oh contemplate the Universe with me, pausing to draw an inference or two.

The Veil

We'll weigh the essence of eternity, a fountain rich, beyound our yearning view.

The Magic

Oh contemplate its substance, fire and ice, and so distil the magic in between.

The Elemental

Fire and Ice, more than incredible. Surrender now, it's indescribable.

The Question

Colour and sound prevail, but question time will start with, "Who am I?"

The Complication

We try, we fail, we try again, it's tough.

Imagination's just not good enough

New Poems (Website started October, 2016) (New Poems, Not on this page)

The following are some new poems, not found in the book, but still representative of the themes covered. It can be easily seen that the content is from an evolution skeptic's point of view. Not much we can do there. Those below may seem a little intense, so check out the extracts from our book for a milder introduction to the origins debate.

"Contemplate the Universe" expands on all the topics covered below, with 400 sonnets to fill in the details on Evolution theory, Intelligent Design, Creationism, The Cosmos, Biodiversity, Religion, Mass Media, Control systems, The Big Bang Theory, The Multiverse, Dinosaurs and Education. We're not shy. The sonnet format lends itself to all the drama, passion and intensity that come with origins debates. Watch the punctuation. It plays a more significant role in sonnets than in newspapers or novels.

Contemplate the Universe

"Not just Atoms"

By Bert Poelstra

Not Eternal. Not Infinite. Therefore, One Object.

One Beginning. One History.

Ultra-interconnectedness.

Beauty. Precision. Grandeur.

Blind Accident or Honoured Gift.

Oh contemplate the Universe with us

To hunt the spark that makes it thus.

What ultimate reality

Illuminates our history?
