The Book

Book

Eternity, energy, gas, fire, ice, rocks, bugs, dinosaurs, people, smartphones. These are some of the major developments in the history of the Universe. CTU takes a peek at all those topics. We're not shy.

The origins debate has all the excitement of religion and politics, so the temperature goes up regularly. It covers a broad range of topics and brings out the intensity in people. Topics include eternity, destiny, chemistry, biology, theology, mystery, all with smouldering intensity. So enjoy. (CTU: The Book: 418 poems)

We are fairly confident that sonnets were meant to be spoken, so when reading these and those in the book, find that quiet place, imagine your favourite thespian speaking these words, or live on the edge and have a go yourself, and contemplate the Universe.

Because of certain hurdles we could not jump over, the online version of CTU contains no images. We have placed some of the removed black and white images of some dust collectors here.

The electronic version of "Contemplate the Universe" can be purchased from the Kindle store.

Bert Poelstra has been a technical person all his working life, electrical, electronics, microprocessors, PLC's, science, maths and education. He answers to the names, Henri, Dad or Grandad. What's he doing writing poetry? One of the mysteries of the Universe. The world views people hold have been a major fascination for him since a teenager, and he puts all his cards on the table when he contemplates the Universe and asks the question, "What are we looking at when we open our eyes?"
